Their Journey to SPCA: Arlo was brought into the care of the SPCA in June 2026 through the TNRM (Trap-Neuter-Rehome/Release-Manage) program. This initiative involves trapping community cats for sterilization and microchipping. While many cats are returned to their original environments, the SPCA decided to keep Arlo because he is a very affectionate cat who deserves a loving family.
Personality: Arlo is a sweet and resilient boy. Like many cats transitioning from the community, he is initially shy with strangers and new environments. However, he reveals a deeply affectionate side once he receives a little patience and gentle reassurance. He simply needs a bit of time to warm up and show his true self.
Daily Life: As a young kitten, Arlo is looking for a home where he can grow in comfort. Adopters should imagine a gentle companion who, once settled, will enjoy quiet interactions and the safety of a stable routine. He needs an owner willing to give him the necessary time to adjust at his own pace.
Behaviour & Training
- Comfort with handling: He responds well to gentle reassurance.
- Behaviour around strangers: Initially cautious and wary; he needs time to build trust.
- Progress made: He has successfully transitioned from the streets and is learning to trust humans more every day.

- Environment: A calm and patient household where he can feel secure.
- Safety Requirements: Secure cat-proof meshing is a mandatory requirement to prevent accidental falls.
- Owner Profile: Suitable for someone who appreciates a quiet bond and understands that Arlo is a wonderful cat making a fresh start.
Special Care Requirements
- Environmental Needs: Verification of meshing or grille measurements is required before the adoption can be finalised.
- Licensing: All adopters are required to license their cats at the point of adoption (https://go.gov.sg/petownershipcourse).
Progress Since Rescue: Arlo has overcome the uncertainty of life as a community kitten. Since his arrival, he has built confidence and is now ready to transition into a beloved family pet.
Educational Corner - The Importance of Cat-Proof Meshing: It is a common myth that cats always land on their feet; in reality, high-rise falls can lead to devastating injuries or death. Installing secure mesh or grilles on all windows and gates is the most effective way to protect your cat, ensuring they do not "take the fall" for a lack of home safety. Please refer to this article for meshing recommendations: https://spca.org.sg/resources/dont-let-them-take-the-fall-for-you-cats-do-not-have-nine-lives/
Looking for a Perfect Family: With a little patience and lots of love, Arlo will reward his family with unwavering loyalty. He is looking for a family that sees the wonderful cat he is on the inside.
