More about Eden
Eden came into the care of the SPCA in September 2025 after a community feeder noticed a laceration wound on the tip of her ear. Initial treatment was unsuccessful, and further investigation revealed that she had a localised ear tumour as well as a methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus (MRS) infection. To ensure her long-term comfort, the affected tip of her ear was surgically removed.
Following surgery and treatment, Eden has made an excellent recovery. She has been cleared of her MRS infection, and the tumour is believed to have been completely removed. She is now ready to enjoy her retirement in a loving forever home.
Personality
Eden is a senior lady with plenty of character and a wonderfully independent spirit. Like many older cats, she appreciates having her boundaries respected. Some days she enjoys gentle attention and interaction, while on other days she simply prefers to relax in peace.
She is not particularly fond of other cats and would much rather have her family's attention all to herself. One thing that never changes, however, is her love for food—she is highly food-motivated and will happily accept a tasty treat.
Although she may not be the type of cat who constantly seeks cuddles, Eden forms meaningful bonds with people who understand and respect her personality.
Daily Life
Eden is looking for a quiet indoor home where she can spend her golden years in comfort. She would enjoy a predictable routine, cosy resting spots, and a family who understands that companionship can come in many forms.
As a senior cat, she would appreciate a calm environment where she can receive gentle care while living life at her own pace.
Behaviour
Comfort with handling: Enjoys gentle handling on her own terms and appreciates having her boundaries respected.
Around strangers: May take a little time to warm up to new people but settles best in a calm, quiet environment. She would prefer to be the only cat in the household.
Progress: Eden has recovered very well following surgery and treatment and continues to do well in SPCA's care.

She has recovered well, and the removal of part of her ear does not affect her comfort or quality of life. As with any senior cat, regular veterinary check-ups will help ensure she remains healthy and comfortable as she ages.
Please note that our cats are not routinely tested for FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) or FeLV (Feline Leukaemia Virus) unless there is a medical indication to do so.
Ideal Home
Eden is looking for a loving indoor home where she can enjoy a peaceful retirement surrounded by people who understand and appreciate her independent personality. She would do best as the only cat in the household and with adopters who are happy to let her decide when she would like attention.
Like all newly adopted cats, Eden should initially be provided with a quiet room equipped with food, water, a litter tray, comfortable bedding, and hiding places before gradually being introduced to the rest of the home.

Home Safety: To ensure Eden's safety, adopters will be required to provide verification of their cat-proof meshing or window/grille measurements before the adoption can be finalised.

Why Cat-Proof Meshing Matters
Cats are naturally curious and agile, but contrary to popular belief, they do not always land safely on their feet. Falls from windows or balconies can result in severe injuries or even be fatal. Installing secure cat-proof meshing or grilles on all windows, balconies, and other potential escape points is essential to keeping your cat safe.

Looking for Her Forever Home
Eden has overcome more than most cats in her lifetime and is now simply looking for a peaceful place to call home. She may be independent and a little particular at times, but for someone who appreciates a cat with personality, she will make a wonderful companion.
