Pixie came into the care of the SPCA in November 2021 when she was just two months old after being involved in a traffic accident. The accident left her with a pelvic fracture and nerve damage affecting her bladder and bowels, resulting in permanent incontinence. Despite everything she has been through, Pixie has shown incredible resilience and has grown into a happy, affectionate, and playful young cat who is ready to find a family to call her own.
Personality
Pixie is a spirited little girl with a huge personality. Affectionately described as a "mini-tornado", she is curious, energetic, and always ready for her next adventure. She loves spending time with people and has an adorable habit of reaching out with her paw to tap her favourite humans when she wants attention.
Her medical condition has never dampened her cheerful spirit. Pixie approaches each day with enthusiasm and is looking for a family who will love her for the playful, affectionate cat she is.
Daily Life
Pixie would thrive in an indoor home where she has plenty of opportunities to play, explore, and interact with her family. She enjoys an active lifestyle and would love a home that can provide enrichment, toys, and lots of quality time.
As Pixie has permanent bladder and bowel incontinence, she will require an adopter who is committed to helping her with daily hygiene care and managing her condition. With a consistent routine and a little extra care, Pixie continues to live a happy, active, and fulfilling life.

Comfort with handling: Enjoys gentle handling and affection and loves interacting with people.
Around strangers: Friendly and affectionate, though she may appreciate a little time to settle into new surroundings.
Progress: Pixie has adapted incredibly well since her accident and continues to run, play, and enjoy life despite her physical challenges.
Medical History
Pixie sustained a pelvic fracture and permanent nerve damage to her bladder and bowels following a traffic accident as a kitten. While her injuries have healed, she has permanent loss of bladder and bowel control and will require lifelong management of her hygiene needs.
Despite this, Pixie remains active, playful, and enjoys an excellent quality of life. Her condition does not stop her from running, climbing, playing, or forming close bonds with people.
Please note that our cats are not routinely tested for FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) or FeLV (Feline Leukaemia Virus) unless there is a medical indication to do so.
Ideal Home
Pixie is looking for a loving indoor home with adopters who are committed to managing her special care needs while embracing her fun-loving personality. She would be best suited to someone who understands that her medical condition is only one small part of who she is.
Like all newly adopted cats, Pixie should initially be given a quiet room equipped with food, water, a litter tray, comfortable bedding, and hiding places, allowing her to settle in before gradually exploring the rest of the home.

Home Safety: To ensure Pixie's safety, adopters will be required to provide verification of their cat-proof meshing or window/grille measurements before the adoption can be finalised.
