Neko came into the care of the SPCA in 2024 after she was surrendered by her previous owners when she was unable to get along with the other cats in the household. Although she lost the only home she had known, Neko has never lost her love for people.
Over the past two years, she has patiently waited for someone to see past her medical condition and recognise the wonderful companion she truly is. She is now hoping for a family who will give her the second chance she has been waiting so patiently for—a home where she can be the one and only cat, surrounded by love, stability, and understanding.
Personality
Neko is the definition of a people-cat. She is incredibly affectionate, friendly, and always happy to spend time with anyone willing to offer her a gentle pat or a kind word. She has a warm, welcoming personality that makes her easy to fall in love with.
She thrives on human companionship and simply enjoys being close to her people. Whether she's quietly keeping you company or happily greeting you when you come home, Neko has a special way of making every day feel a little brighter.
Daily Life
Neko would thrive in a calm indoor home where she can be the centre of someone's world.
She enjoys a predictable routine, comfortable resting places, and spending quality time with her family. As she lives with a chronic respiratory condition, she requires ongoing medication and occasional monitoring, but this has never stopped her from living life with enthusiasm or showing affection to everyone she meets.
Because she prefers not to share her space with other cats, Neko is looking for a single-cat household where she can feel completely safe and secure.

Medical History
Neko has been diagnosed with chronic idiopathic rhinosinusitis, a long-term inflammatory condition affecting her nasal passages. As a result, she has a mild, clear nasal discharge and requires regular mucolytic medication to help manage her symptoms.
Her condition is stable and well managed, and she continues to enjoy an excellent quality of life. With ongoing medication, routine veterinary monitoring, and a loving home, there is every reason to expect Neko to continue living comfortably for many years to come.
Please note that our cats are not routinely tested for FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) or FeLV (Feline Leukaemia Virus) unless there is a medical indication to do so.
Ideal Home
Neko is looking for a calm indoor home where she will be the only cat. She would thrive with adopters who are comfortable administering her medication and committed to managing her chronic respiratory condition.
Like all newly adopted cats, Neko should initially be given a quiet room equipped with food, water, a litter tray, comfortable bedding, and hiding places, allowing her to settle in before gradually exploring the rest of the home.

Home Safety: To ensure Neko's safety, adopters will be required to provide verification of their cat-proof meshing or window/grille measurements before the adoption can be finalised.
