About Rosie

Affectionately known as Auntie Rosie, Rosie came to us in April 2026 after a community feeder noticed she was having difficulty walking. She had previously visited us for flu treatment before being safely released back to her familiar area.

On veterinary examination, Rosie was diagnosed with spondylosis and arthritis—degenerative conditions affecting her spine and joints. These changes are commonly age-related and can lead to chronic pain, stiffness, reduced mobility, and difficulty with jumping, climbing, or sustained activity. Clinical findings were consistent with degenerative joint disease and spinal changes.

With rest, pain management, and ongoing supportive care, Rosie has improved significantly. She is now walking more comfortably without a visible limp, though she still avoids jumping down from high surfaces and would benefit from a home that can accommodate her mobility needs.

Ongoing management is recommended to maintain her comfort and quality of life, including pain control, joint support supplementation, soft bedding, and simple environmental modifications. Regular veterinary monitoring will also help track progression and adjust care as needed.

Rosie is vocal, affectionate, and enjoys human companionship. However, she is not a fan of other cats and would likely thrive best as the only cat in a calm home where she can enjoy being the centre of attention.

This sweet auntie is now looking for a loving forever home where she can spend her golden years comfortably, safely, and surrounded by care.
