More about Monki
Monki came into the care of the SPCA in March 2026 after he was rescued with a severe fracture to his forelimb. Unfortunately, the injury was too extensive to be repaired, and the kindest option was to amputate his front leg to ensure his long-term comfort and wellbeing. Despite everything he has been through, Monki has recovered wonderfully and has embraced life with incredible confidence and resilience. He is now ready to find a loving family to call his own.
Personality
Monki is a charming, affectionate, and confident little gentleman with a wonderful zest for life. He adores human companionship and has a gentle, loving personality that quickly wins people over. Despite having only three legs, Monki doesn't let his disability define him. He approaches life with enthusiasm and enjoys being involved in whatever his people are doing.
He is looking for a family who will see beyond his physical appearance and appreciate the incredible spirit and affection he has to offer. In return, Monki will reward them with endless love, companionship, and plenty of happy moments.
Daily Life
Monki would thrive in a loving indoor home where he can enjoy a stable routine and spend lots of time with his family. He remains remarkably active and independent, confidently navigating his surroundings despite having three legs.
While he has adapted exceptionally well, providing easy access to his favourite resting spots and avoiding the need for frequent high jumps will help keep him comfortable in the long term. Above all, Monki simply wants a safe home filled with love and companionship.
Behaviour
Comfort with handling: Enjoys gentle handling, affection, and spending time with people.
Around strangers: Confident, friendly, and quickly warms up to new people.
Progress: Monki has recovered beautifully from his surgery and has adapted exceptionally well to life on three legs.
Medical History
Monki was rescued with a severe forelimb fracture that required amputation to ensure his long-term comfort and quality of life. He has since made an excellent recovery and now lives happily and confidently as a three-legged cat.
His amputation does not prevent him from enjoying a full and active life, and he continues to move around with remarkable ease.
Please note that our cats are not routinely tested for FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) or FeLV (Feline Leukaemia Virus) unless there is a medical indication to do so.
Ideal Home
Monki is looking for a loving indoor home where he can enjoy a stable routine and be an important part of the family. He would be best suited to adopters who understand that while he has three legs, he is every bit as capable of living a happy and fulfilling life.
Like all newly adopted cats, Monki should initially be given a quiet room equipped with food, water, a litter tray, comfortable bedding, and hiding places, allowing him to settle in before gradually exploring the rest of the home.
Other Adoption Requirements
Home Safety: To ensure Monki's safety, adopters will be required to provide verification of their cat-proof meshing or window/grille measurements before the adoption can be finalised.
Cat Licensing: All adopters are required to complete the Responsible Pet Ownership e-learning course and license their cat at the point of adoption via: https://go.gov.sg/petownershipcourse
Why Cat-Proof Meshing Matters
Cats are naturally curious and agile, but contrary to popular belief, they do not always land safely on their feet. Falls from windows or balconies can result in severe injuries or even be fatal. Installing secure cat-proof meshing or grilles on all windows, balconies, and other potential escape points is essential to keeping your cat safe.

Looking for His Forever Home
Monki is looking for a family who will see beyond his three legs and recognise the affectionate, confident, and resilient cat he truly is. He has overcome a difficult start in life with incredible determination and continues to prove every day that a disability does not limit his ability to enjoy life.
If you're looking for a cheerful companion with a heart full of love and an inspiring spirit, Monki may be the perfect addition to your family.
