Floppy Disk is a 1.5-year-old male Golden Syrian hamster who came into our care on 23 January 2026 after being found abandoned, wandering and injured at a secondary school. Despite his difficult start, he remains a gentle, trusting little soul with a quiet charm. Upon intake, he presented with a wobbly gait — suspected to be a neurological condition such as ataxia — along with a small wound that has since healed and slight lethargy that he has recovered from. Today, he is alert, comfortable with handling, and enjoys simple pleasures like burrowing, exploring his sand, and nibbling on vegetables and the occasional corn kernel.

Due to his condition, Floppy Disk will require a low fall-risk environment with a gentle, uncluttered enclosure and no exercise wheel. His setup should include deep, non-scented bedding for burrowing, safe hideouts without sharp edges, and easily accessible essentials like a low-mounted water bottle and a sand bath. With the right home, he will continue to thrive in his own quiet, special way. Floppy Disk may be a little wobbly, but he is full of life, trust, and warmth — and is simply looking for a home that understands and embraces him.
