Highlights from our second Paws for a Cause Gala Benefit Dinner

In conjunction with World Animal Day, the SPCA hosted our second Paws for a Cause Gala. Our theme this year celebrates our Singapaw Specials and Sayangs, and the generous giving Singapore spirit.

A huge THANK YOU to all our amazing suppawters, including 50 over partners who made this event a success! We managed to raise over $800,000 which will go a long way in providing shelter, love and care to many animals in need.

Graced by fellow animal lover, our Guest of Honour, Minister for Home Affairs and Minister for Law, Mr. K Shanmugam, spoke passionately about the challenges facing animal welfare, and even shared a video featuring his own rescued dogs!

In the last financial year (1 July 2022 to 30 June 2023), the SPCA helped 4,737 animals in distress. Our Inepectorate addressed 862 instances of animal cruelty and welfare concerns, which is the highest number of cases in the past 11 years.

Pet abandonment has increased significantly, with 266 cases recorded compared to the previous average of 50-70 annually.
