Monte was surrendered to the SPCA in December 2024 following reports of neglect and abuse. He had been kept confined in a small cage and was allegedly subjected to mistreatment. Despite this traumatic start, Monte has shown an incredible spirit.

Bursting with energy, Monte loves to play, especially with toys, and is highly food-motivated—a great trait for training and building trust. While he is wary of strangers and fast movements, with patience and consistency, Monte begins to show his fun-loving and affectionate side.

Monte is best suited for an all-adult household with experienced dog owners who can provide the structure, understanding, and gentle care he needs to continue healing and growing. He will do best in a calm, stable environment where he can feel safe and supported.
