Name: Lukan
Gender: Male
Breed: Domestic Short hair
Colour: Ginger
Age: 8 Years (as of Nov 2025)
Lukan came to us in November 2025 after a kind member of the public found him lying immobile on a grass patch beside a drain, with visible injuries to his face and legs.
Upon veterinary examination, Lukan was diagnosed with left-sided hip dysplasia, hematuria, and epistaxis, with a suspected lumbar vertebral fracture. His injuries were consistent with possible vehicular trauma or a fall from height.
Since then, Lukan has made a good recovery through strict cage rest and medical treatment. He is currently stable and awaiting FHO (Femoral Head Ostectomy) surgery.
We are looking for a committed fosterer who is able to support his care both pre- and post-surgery, until he is medically cleared and ready for adoption.
Lukan is not a difficult cat to manage. He has a gentle, warm, and calm disposition, and is generally easy to handle. He enjoys food and is very motivated at mealtimes, which helps with caregiving and bonding.
Foster Requirements
• Able to support post-operative recovery care
• Comfortable with confinement / cage rest
• Monitor mobility and healing progress
• Attend scheduled veterinary reviews
• Quiet, safe indoor environment
To ensure their safety and welfare, interested parties are required to fully mesh their windows and house gate to prevent the likelihood of “high rise syndrome”. This happens when cats get gravely injured or lose their lives after a fall from height. Videos/Photos of all the meshing or measurements of grilles have to be provided for verification before adoption can be finalized. Please refer to this article for meshing recommendations - https://spca.org.sg/resources/dont-let-them-take-the-fall-for-you-cats-do-not-have-nine-lives/.
Note: With effect from 1 September 2024, all adopters will be required to license their cats at the point of adoption. Interested adopters are strongly encouraged to watch and complete a one-time free video online https://go.gov.sg/petownershipcourse
