Name: Helmet Head
Gender: Male
Breed: Domestic Medium Hair
Colour: Grey
Age: 2 Years (as of Sept 2024)
Helmet Head came into our care in September 2024 after a kind citizen found him with an open wound near his ear. Despite his rough start, he quickly won everyone over with his outgoing personality. He is vocal, extremely food-motivated, and affectionate, often following people around for attention. He has a slightly unusual way of walking — a bit of a stomp — and he tends to snort, but these quirks only add to his charm.
His wound care, however, requires committed management. The bandage must be changed and the wound once every 2 days, and he will need to come back for regular veterinary reviews to ensure proper healing. He is generally easy to handle and enjoys companionship, making him suitable for fosters who can provide consistent medical care and lots of affection.
To ensure their safety and welfare, interested parties are required to fully mesh their windows and house gate to prevent the likelihood of “high rise syndrome”. This happens when cats get gravely injured or lose their lives after a fall from height. Videos/Photos of all the meshing or measurements of grilles have to be provided for verification before adoption can be finalized. Please refer to this article for meshing recommendations - https://spca.org.sg/resources/dont-let-them-take-the-fall-for-you-cats-do-not-have-nine-lives/.
Note: With effect from 1 September 2024, all adopters will be required to license their cats at the point of adoption. Interested adopters are strongly encouraged to watch and complete a one-time free video online https://go.gov.sg/petownershipcourse
