Buddy is a gentle and loving boy with a calm, cheerful nature. He enjoys being close to his favourite people. When you are cooking, he will lie quietly in the kitchen. When you are working, he will rest under the table. He is usually a quiet companion, though he may occasionally be vocal when expressing his needs, especially when he is hungry or thirsty.
As a husky living in sunny Singapore, Buddy drinks a lot of water and needs to stay well hydrated.
Buddy is not potty trained and has a habit of walking while peeing, so accidents can cover quite a distance. He also has incontinence. He currently wears diapers at home, but due to his high water intake, there may still be leaks.
Buddy will need a dedicated and understanding adopter. He is currently undergoing medical evaluation for a suspected autoimmune skin condition (pemphigus), and we are awaiting biopsy results for confirmation. In the meantime, he is being managed based on this working diagnosis. The condition has affected his paws, causing painful cracks, so he needs to wear protective boots on his hind legs during walks.
He also has allergies, including yeast and dust mites, which means he must be on a fresh food diet instead of kibble. His meals cost about $430 a month. Like many senior dogs, he also has arthritis. Recently, Buddy has also contracted ringworm and will need to undergo about two weeks of treatment.
Despite these challenges, Buddy remains a bright and happy boy who finds joy in the little things each day.
Buddy takes time to warm up to new people and can be selective with other dogs. He would do best in a calm home without other dogs, with someone patient and committed to his care.
