Youth Ambassador Programmes

"Let's be Kinder to Animals" Initiative

Youth Ambassadors, you can now share your passion for animal welfare and be an advocate for the animals!

Speak to your teachers, pick an animal welfare topic you are passionate about and have our SPCA educators come down for a combined talk!

Programme breakdown:

1 hour session20 min: Student sharing
40 min: SPCA sharing
Guidelines:

  • This programme is only for children under the Youth Ambassador Programme (You can team up with your friends/ classmates).
  • Identify an animal welfare related topic you are interested in sharing with your classmates! This can be done individually or as a group.
  • Once you speak with your teacher in charge, email your interest and topic outline to [email protected], once approved, our Education Officer will head down to your class for a talk!

SPCA x ACRES: Half-Day Expawrer Camp

Join us in our first-ever learning journey as we share more about what it takes to run an animal shelter, how to approach an animal (pawsibly meet a furry guest of honor!), and visit our wildlife friends at Acres Wildlife Rescue Centre! Programme breakdown:

Programme Schedule 1:00 pm – Registration
1:15 pm – SPCA education talk & interaction with our Shelter animals
2:15 pm – Journey to Acres
3:30 pm – Debrief & Reflection at the SPCA
4:00 pm – Dismissal

  • WITHDRAWAL: Regarding withdrawals, please note that no refunds will be issued.
  • CONDUCT: Our aim is to establish and sustain a pleasant and cheerful atmosphere, and we do not tolerate any type of physical or verbal violence or detrimental behavior towards anyone on the premises. If any situation arises that goes against our principles, we reserve the right to intervene and separate those involved if deemed necessary.
  • PUNCTUALITY: We kindly request all participants to arrive on time for the programme as it will begin promptly at the scheduled time. Being late not only affects the group dynamics but also means that the participant may miss out on important information.
  • PHOTOGRAPHY & MEDIA: We may record our operational and teaching activities while providing programmes to your child. By accepting these Terms & Conditions, parents/guardians (if applicable) grant us permission to use their child's photograph(s), written work, art work, and voice in academic portfolios, videos, printed collateral, online platforms, testimonials, and other promotional materials. If you do not want your child's photograph(s), written work, art work, or voice to be featured, please inform us before the workshop.
  • INDEMNITY: The SPCA will not be liable for any injuries that should arise from the activity. All participants should adhere strictly to the safety guidelines and instructions of SPCA staff. Participants should also declare any allergies to pets. Participants may also request to sit out from particular segments that they are uncomfortable participating in.

We seek your understanding that safeguarding animal welfare and our participants’ safety remains an important priority to us.

Participant Details

Only youth aged 7 to 16 years old are eligible for this workshop. Anyone younger or older will automatically be removed from the list.

Parent-Child Reading Programme at SPCA

Love reading? Join us in helping our dogs in our rehabilitation centre feel at ease and find their forever homes!

Please Note:

  • This programme is only for children under the Youth Ambassador Programme. Please bring along your Youth Ambassador membership card for verification when attending the programme.

  • Parent-child can book one slot with us for the reading programme. There is a maximum cap of 1 adult and 1 child. We reserve the rights to deny entry if there are more than the specified number of participants.

  • In the case you do not show up for the session you have registered for, we will not be able to grant any extension or rescheduling. For registrants who do not show up for the session, we will not accept any future scheduling for a 3-month period.

  • Bring along any number of books of your choice, to read during the session.
