If you've found an animal
Your quick action could reunite a family

Call SPCA's 24/7 emergency hotline at 6287 5355 Ext. 9 if there are indications the animal was abandoned or is injured.

Call the hotline first

If the animal appears abandoned, injured, or in distress, call 6287 5355 Ext. 9 immediately. Our team is available 24/7 and will advise you on the best course of action.

Submit a found animal report

Fill in the found animal form below with details about the animal — species, colour, breed, location found, and any unique features. Attach photos if possible.

Check for a microchip

Bring the animal to SPCA or a vet to be scanned for a microchip. If the animal is chipped and registered, we can contact the owner directly.

Keep the animal safe

If you are able to hold the animal temporarily, keep it in a safe, secure space away from other pets. Provide food, water, and shelter while we work to find the owner.

Preventing your pet from getting lost
Simple steps that make a big difference
Keep your dog leashed when out in public at all times
Check collars and leashes regularly — many dogs go missing because of worn or ill-fitting collars
Never let your dog wander outside the home without supervision
Keep cats strictly indoors — outdoor roaming puts them at serious risk
Use identification tags on collars with your phone number and address clearly written or engraved
Ensure windows, gates, fences, and doors are securely fastened with no gaps your pet can squeeze through
Lost dogs with up-to-date licences and ID tags attached to their collars have much better chances of being reunited with their owners

Microchipping your pet
The single most effective way to be reunited with a lost pet
i

The SPCA and AVS scan all lost animals brought in. If your lost pet has a registered microchip, we will contact you directly.

What is a microchip?

A microchip is a tiny device about the size of a rice grain, usually implanted between the shoulder blades. It carries a unique identification number that links to your contact details.

Register your microchip

A microchip is useless without registration. Register with AVS via Singpass at ifast.sfa.gov.sg — select "Microchip Submission (For Individual)" and follow the steps.

Keep details up to date

If you move house or change your phone number, update your microchip registration immediately. An outdated registration is almost as unhelpful as no registration at all.

Register with SPCA too

Ensure your microchip is registered with both AVS and SPCA. The SPCA scans all animals brought in — if your pet is chipped and registered with us, reunification is much faster.
