About Forest

Name: Forest
Gender: Male
Breed: Domestic Short hair
Colour:  Tabby
Age: 6 Years (as of Nov 2025)

Forest came into our care in November 2025 after he was found lying by a pillar, unable to move. Upon intake, he tested positive for ringworm and had multiple small skin wounds.

With treatment and proper care, Forest has since cleared his ringworm, though some bald patches remain as his fur slowly grows back.

Forest was later diagnosed with Chronic Allergic Dermatitis, a condition that causes ongoing skin irritation, characterized by persistent pruritus, recurrent skin inflammation and intermittent flare ups. Because of this, he will need to remain on a strict Hill’s ZD diet with no other food or treats, and will require ongoing skin medication. He is currently wearing a cone and medical cooling shirt to prevent further irritation while his skin heals. Dietary trials and environmental modification may be modified further to identify and reduce allergen exposure.

Despite everything he has been through, Forest is a sweet and affectionate boy who enjoys human company and gentle attention. We are hopeful that in a stable home environment, his skin condition may continue to improve over time.

Forest is available for both fostering and adoption.

Fosterers or adopters should be comfortable with:
• Administering skin medication
• Maintaining a strict ZD diet (no additional food or treats)
• Managing a cat wearing a cone
• Monitoring his skin condition

Forest has been through a lot, but he remains a gentle and loving companion who deserves a patient home to continue his recovery.

To ensure their safety and welfare, interested parties are required to fully mesh their windows and house gate to prevent the likelihood of “high rise syndrome”. This happens when cats get gravely injured or lose their lives after a fall from height. Videos/Photos of all the meshing or measurements of grilles have to be provided for verification before adoption can be finalized. Please refer to this article for meshing recommendations -  https://spca.org.sg/resources/dont-let-them-take-the-fall-for-you-cats-do-not-have-nine-lives/.

Note: With effect from 1 September 2024, all adopters will be required to license their cats at the point of adoption. Interested adopters are strongly encouraged to watch and complete a one-time free video online https://go.gov.sg/petownershipcourse
