Argo is a handsome and affectionate Singapore Special who is looking for a loving family to call his own. Argo was previously adopted as a puppy but was surrendered due to reactivity around young children. Since returning to the shelter, he has been a well-behaved, sociable dog who adapts easily to his environment. While Argo can be wary of strangers at first, he is brave enough to approach them on his own and quickly warms up with the help of tasty treats like chicken breast, pork liver, and duck.
Argo is a very smart dog who learns quickly and loves to please his humans. He is affectionate and enjoys getting attention, often rubbing up against you for a pat. Though he has mild food guarding tendencies, he has shown no signs of resource guarding in a home environment. He walks well on a harness lead and enjoys spending time with his family, although he is a bit sensitive to loud noises, especially construction sounds, and will avoid them if possible.
Argo is best suited to a family with no young children, as he feels more comfortable around adults. He is a bit of a squirrel chaser but can be easily redirected. Argo is fully grass trained and prefers to pee outside, so his adopter will need to commit to at least two daily walks. With patience and love, Argo will thrive in a family that understands his needs and is willing to provide a calm, supportive environment where he can feel safe.
