Parent-Child Reading at Nursery

Join us for a special storytelling session where you get to read to our cats!

Remember to bring your favourite books for a purrsome time!

psst, you also get a chance to interact with our cats in the cattery afterwards~

12 January:11.30am to 12.30pm / 1.30pm to 2.30pm

  • This programme is only for children under the Youth Ambassador Programme. Please bring along your Youth Ambassador membership card for verification when attending the programme. (If you have not receive your membership card, please let us know upon attendance on the day of programme and we will check our system for verification)
  • Parent-child can book one slot with us for the reading programme. There is a maximum cap of 2 adults and 2 children. We reserve the right to deny entry if there are more than the specified number of participants.
  • In the case you do not show up for the session you have registered for, we will not be able to grant any extension or rescheduling.
  • Bring along any number of books of your choice, to read during the session.
  • The SPCA will not be liable for any injuries that should arise from the activity. All participants should adhere strictly to the safety guidelines and instructions of SPCA staff. Participants should also declare any allergies to pets. Participants may also request to sit out from particular segments that they are uncomfortable participating in. 

Cat Toy Making workshop – 1 hour

Why buy when you can make your own cat toys? Although your cat may not even care, it is the thought that counts right?

You can bring them back for your pets or donate it to our cats!

Fee: $5 / Youth Ambassador, $10 / Non Youth Ambassador
Slots available: 20 pax / session
Date and Time slots: Saturday, 11 Feb: 11.30 – 12.30pm
Saturday, 11 Feb: 2pm – 3pm

Participant Details

Only youth aged 7 to 16 years old are eligible for this workshop. Anyone younger or older will automatically be removed from the list.

Secondary Contact

For children who are travelling on their own (to/fro the SPCA), there are direct buses from Choa Chu Kang:

  • Bus 975 - From opposite Lot 1 (Keat Hong CC)
  • Bus 172 - CCK Bus Interchange

(Authorities will be contacted should a child be left at our premises for an extended period of time after the workshop ends at 12:30pm)

"Let's be Kinder to Animals" Initiative

Youth Ambassadors, you can now share your passion for animal welfare and be an advocate for the animals!

Speak to your teachers, pick an animal welfare topic you are passionate about and have our SPCA educators come down for a combined talk!

Programme breakdown:

1 hour session20 min: Student sharing
40 min: SPCA sharing

  • This programme is only for children under the Youth Ambassador Programme (You can team up with your friends/ classmates).
  • Identify an animal welfare related topic you are interested in sharing with your classmates! This can be done individually or as a group.
  • Once you speak with your teacher in charge, email your interest and topic outline to [email protected], once approved, our Education Officer will head down to your class for a talk!
