How You Can Help

24-HOUR EMERGENCY HOTLINE: 62875355 ext 9

Our emergency rescue service operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. In 2014, we responded to 3099 calls, and helped 1828 animals. We face a myriad of rescues involving different animals, wildlife and community alike. In rescue operations, our staff often face risky situations in the course of saving an animal's life. However, our dedicated officers will do the best they can and bring the animal to safety.

Here's how you can help the animal if you come across one that is injured, sick or distressed:

1. Call us as soon as possible and provide details such as
- the condition of the animal,
- address of the location,
- your name and
- your contact number.
We will despatch our Animal Rescue Officers (AROs) to your location as soon as possible.

2. Help by bringing the animal to a safer location (e.g. away from traffic, off a crowded area) and confine it (in a box or carrier etc). If you are unable to do so, try to stay or keep an eye out for the animal till our arrival.

3. If possible, you can even help us by bringing the animal to the SPCA shelter (50 Sungei Tengah Road, Singapore 699012) using your own transport and we will bring the animal to our vets. Our rescue service runs 24 hours at our location as well.

*However, as we are responding to close to 250 emergencies per month involving mainly community animals, you would really help us increase the animal's chances of survival by bringing it to a private vet as soon as possible.

Animal rescue is one of SPCA’s many services aimed at protecting animals in Singapore and we do our best to help every animal in distress. Not many of us realise how challenging this work can be, both physically as well as emotionally.

Mohan, one of our longest serving officers, has dedicated his life to the cause. Animal welfare work is often a thankless job, but the satisfaction that he gets after each successful rescue is what keeps him going. When it comes to animals, Mohan's love for them is limitless.
