Don't let his name fool you, Viking is anything but a seafaring voyager! His favourite destination is a patch of luscious, green grass where he can sprint around and put his boundless energy to good use. Because of this abundance of energy, Viking gets bored easily and will do well in a home where he can get a high level of daily interaction. He will also excel if he undergoes training that stimulates his mind, as he learns very quickly. During training, Viking is really eager to work, and coupled with his loose-hanging tongue, his antics will surely put a smile on your face!

Dhoby is a very active dog who can't wait to go for walks. He will happily greet every familiar person he meets and can be overexcited when doing so. He is a very intelligent dog who picks up new things quickly. Dhoby is not comfortable with people touching his paws, mouth and head, especially through restraint and force. But through force-free counter-conditioning and desensitisation training done at the correct pace, he is learning that touching him is nothing he needs to be afraid of.

Dhoby needs a family with an orderly life that has a lot of time to spend with him and which will continue his force-free training.

LIKES:

AVOID:

  • Petting me too long, especially on my head (I like short calm strokes on my back)
  • Introducing me to other dogs too quickly (I need time to learn to be calm around them)

Cinnamon makes you work hard to earn his trust. But having earned it, you will be his BFF. Initially, he might avoid eye contact, slink away or even bark at you if you are a new face to him. But, really, all the shy puppy is asking you for is time, space and patience in getting to know him. Over time, he will show you his true nature and it is irresistible. He's playful, exuberant, and goofy. Always ready to sit or go into a down position for a reward, he knows that being calm and cooperative is the answer to getting his rewards, such as going out on walks and rubs at his sides. With patience and consistency in handling him using rewards-based training, he will be your best pal forever

Tye has grown into a handsome pup without losing the exuberance of his younger self. Noa is shy and will need time and patience to open up, though she has come a long way from the terrified puppy she was when she came to the SPCA.. She has a fairly sweet and gentle temperament, and loves to follow her sister Cilla around. Interestingly, Noa's confidence rises quite a few notches when she's running around and enjoying playtime with a few of her canine friends, she certainly isn't shy then! She would definitely benefit from a calm and relaxed family who will give her the space and time to get settled down, and who understand that there's a heart of gold in there waiting.

Pretty Cilla has come a very long way since she ended up with us at the SPCA. Bambi, Bertha, Bradley, Brandon, Benny and Benji were brothers and sisters stuck in a power grid and abandoned by their parents. They were unable to fend for themselves and the poor little things were starving and whining for help. Our officers with the help of a few security personnel at the permise were able to bring the 6 puppies out and rescue them before harm befalls them. Happy, tumbling and playful, these six little packets of joy are some of the most fun to watch. Attention must be given to them and their training and socialisation is crucial at thier tender age. With that, they will grow into the most obedient and smart adults. Benny likes to hang back and is a generally reserved little pup.

Like all puppies, he needs a family that can teach him good doggy manners in a force free way. He tends to chew on your clothes and jump all over you if you enter his kennel abruptly, but by practising calm kennel entry, he is learning to be polite to visitors. If you have the time, resources and dedication to guide this active puppy along, he will grow to be your perfect canine companion!

Tony
Gender: Male
Breed: Cross Breed
Colour: Cream
Age: 1 yr 1 mth
Not HDB Approved

Don’t be fooled by his movie-star like name, Tony (one part of the duo Tony & Stark in SPCA) is a playful bundle of goodness who enjoys exploring.

Young and energetic, Tony is learning through positive, reward-based training to be calmer (and who can blame a superhero for being excitable when saving the world). He might appear a little nervous at times, but with gentleness and patience, you will find a worthy companion in him.

Dexter
Gender: Male
Breed: Cross Breed
Colour: Black/Tan
Age: 2 yrs 2 mths
Not HDB Approved

Dexter is a very active boy who likes running in an open field, he may seem fierce in the beginning but once he gets to know you he would be so affectionate to you and come running to you when you're out playing with him. However Dexter is not really sociable to other dogs and he may be abit too active to be in a household with young kids.

Dexter needs a family who has experience dealing with active dog and will continue his force free training

Like taking things slow? So does Macho.
He can be timid and scared, and might take his time to warm up; but show him patience, love and understanding (and lots of treats), and you will see that this sweetheart is worth it. He loves going out for fresh air and a sniff sniff but is not ready for a long walk.
Handsome and intelligent, Macho needs the right person to help him come out of his shell. Remember to be gentle with him and give him space if he needs it. With time and the right approach, he can move past his fears to be a loving, affectionate companion.

Henna is a charming and beautiful girl who will have you swooning over her at first sight. She’s active, adventurous, and an intelligent ball of fluff. She's also often excited to meet people. She can, however, appear anxious at times, particularly if a person is moving too quickly towards her or approaching her too suddenly. So she would prefer to be approached in a calm and being patted gently, and taking her time to warm up to you.

Batman
Gender: Male
Breed: Local
Colour: Black and White
Age: 3 yrs 1 mth

Our Batman, who was found bleeding on the streets, is looking for his forever partner. This superhero is a star with the kids visiting the shelter as he is the gentlest kitty on the block, always up for a cuddle and hug. When not chasing villains in his dreams, Batman loves kneading the kind people giving him endless cuddles. This beautiful cat, with striking green eyes that shine against his black and white coat, is the definition of good behaviour – except he isn’t litter trained. He will need a bit of help and guidance in that department. To support his training he is best suited for an experienced, single-cat household.

Cecil
Gender: Female
Breed: Local
Colour: Tri
Age: 8 yrs 4 mths

Cecil is a gentle senior with cute white “socks”, a white nose and the most endearing big eyes. She was surrendered to us earlier this year. Easily overlooked in the shelter for her content and calm nature, she is usually found curled up high on a scratch tree, unfazed by her surroundings. She always welcomes a gentle stroking session and can’t wait to find her perfect chill-out buddy.

Lyn
Gender: Female
Breed: Local
Colour: Tri Color
Age: 2 yrs 5 mths

Lyn likes to think of herself as half-Scottish fold with one wonky ear being her unique feature, complemented by mesmerizing light blue eyes. This young lady really came around since joining us earlier this year. Initially very reserved and scared, Lyn has transformed into a confident kitty that knows what she wants (chin rubs!) and we can only imagine how her character would grow in a loving forever home. Lyn prefers to be in a single-cat household where all the love and attention is on her – just what she deserves!

Minnie
Gender: Female
Breed: Local
Colour: Tortoiseshell
Age: 1 yr 7 mths

Minnie is our silky tortoiseshell beauty that looks always alert and curious with her big green eyes and big ears. Torties unfairly have a reputation of being divas but this could not be further from the truth with this gentle, playful little girl. She loves to engage visitors hoping for a play session by pawing through her cage as people walk past. Minnie would make a great cat for families with children as this active kitten has the energy and gentleness required to keep up. Minnie is most suitable for an experienced, single-cat household as she will need to be litter trained in a secure environment. We are here to provide you with tips on how to make this happen.

Garfield
Gender: Male
Breed: Local
Colour: Ginger and White
Age: 3 yrs 10 mths

In search of a reliable furry companion, look no further. Garfield will greet you when you come home, follow you around and oversee all your activities, as he does with us in the shelter! He is engaging, curious and always the first cat to jump into a lap when the opportunity presents itself. He can get a bit carried away at times in showing his love and will need some training to learn when a gentle nibble on your hand is not appropriate - something we are sure he can learn with positive reinforcement. Whilst he gets on with other cats, Garfield can be dominant and would certainly be happy to have all your love and attention just for himself.

Macy
Gender: Female
Breed: Local
Colour: Tri
Age: 1 yr 11 mths

Macy is a true calico cat – a symbol of good luck! She was fortunate to be spotted as a tiny kitten, abandoned in a car. Now she is desperately waiting to share her fortunate and love in a forever home. She is often overlooked in the shelter due to her quiet nature and her soft vocals. Having been in the shelter for some time now, she will require some patience to regain her confidence. She has never known a loving home and deserves a chance. As she will need some time, she is best suited for an adult household.

Josiah
Gender: Male
Breed: Local
Colour: Tabby / White
Age: 5 yrs 10 mths

Meet the boss of the shelter – Josiah. This confident cat has been with us for almost two years, coming to us as his previous owner was unable to care for him any longer. Josiah opens up quickly to people and shows a healthy dose of curiosity. He is quite opportunistic when it comes to spotting a warm lap to curl up, not fully aware of his masculine size at times when trying to find a cosy place to sleep. Whilst he likes a good chin rub, petting and cuddling happens at his pace – he’s the boss after all. Despite his dominant streak at times, he gets on quite well with other cats and would be suitable for a busier household (which he will run of course).

Fossil is calm, cool and collected. This cat has the most adorable and loving personality too. Come and see for yourself.

Margot
Gender: Female
Breed: Local
Colour: Tabby
Age: 5 yrs 9 mths

Margot is an affectionate, demure feline with gorgeous tabby marks and dark green eyes. As her well-rounded statue may give away, she prefers to spend her days curled up high on a cat tree than chase every toy that comes into her sight. Margot’s independent personality is perfect for a working couple that allow her enough beauty sleep during the day whilst also being there for her when she is ready for a good chin rub and cuddle. She is sure to curl up with you but prefers to have her four paws on the ground (and we are thankful for that – she isn’t a light feather). Margot does not get easily fazed by the action around her and has proven to get on well with other cats too.

Rocky
Gender: Male
Breed: x-Burmese
Colour: Black and White
Age: 6 yrs 7 mths

Rocky lives up to his name – this confident, independent masculine cat will need a patient owner that is willing to work with him at his pace. Having had a turbulent life, his guard is up. Rocky is unfortunately not suitable for a household with young kids. To bring the best out of him and ensure a forever home, we prefer to see him go to an experienced, calm household that will give him the time and space he needs to feel secure again. He is very responsive to bribes in the form of food, will eat out of your hand and even sit in your lap whilst eating – so there is most definitely hope for Rocky to turn around and forget about his past.

Cuddle
Gender: Female
Breed: Local
Colour: Tabby
Age: 1 yr 11 mths

The clue is in the name – her cashmere-soft fur is simply irresistible and perfect for a good cuddle. If you haven’t fallen in love with her yet at first stroke, her round, green eyes are sure to steal your heart. She is a playfully, chatty young girl that came to us earlier this year as her owner could not take care of her. Whilst Cuddle had to toughen up a bit next to our bossier cats, deep down there is a gentle angle waiting for a safe home where she can drop her guard again. Cuddle gets on with most cats though we suspect that her best side will come out when she gets all the attention for herself.

Hamster
Breed:
Colour:

Currently, we have 8 hamsters for adoption.

Hamsters are great for people who have to work all day. Hamsters sleep in the daytime and are ready to play when people come home from work. Remember to always keep your hamsters in separate cages! Contrary to popular belief, they are solitary animals who far better alone!
