Cliff
Gender: Male
Breed: Cross Breed
Colour: Brown
Age: 3 yrs 7 mths
Not HDB Approved

Cliff came to the shelter with fears of many everyday things that we humans perceive to be normal. Unfamilar people being one of these things. He is slowly learning not to be afraid of these through reward-based training and is making progress. Cliff's walking behaviour has improved as well. He now walks nicely beside his handler when kept a distance from his triggers. He would do best in a home that will take the time to understand his fears and work on them with positive reward-based and force-free training.

This dog marked Adoption By Appointment (ABA) will require you to make a prior appointment to view and interact with him. He needs more specialized care and training and therefore a counselor well versed with this dog will be at hand during the appointed meeting. Please call 62875355 ext 24 to make an appointment. If you are unable to get through to speak to someone, please leave a voice message and a staff or volunteer will get back to you as soon as possible.

Quin is a bundle of energy who loves to play. Please help her settle and focus by turning your back to her when she jumps and wait or ask her to sit. Once she get some energy out by running, she is eager to learn new tricks like down, touch, and stay. She is very excited about mealtime and has a tendency to be protective of her empty food bowl when you try to take it away, but she is working on getting better at not doing so.

LIKES:

  • Being out on walks and running
  • Learning new cues (so far I know sit and touch and am beginning to learn down)
  • Attention from anyone who will give it to me

AVOID:

  • Petting or rubbing me too long , especially around the neck and head
  • Letting me jump on you
  • Taking my food bowl away quickly (best to trade for something special)

Cinnamon makes you work hard to earn his trust. But having earned it, you will be his BFF. Initially, he might avoid eye contact, slink away or even bark at you if you are a new face to him. But, really, all the shy puppy is asking you for is time, space and patience in getting to know him. Over time, he will show you his true nature and it is irresistible. He's playful, exuberant, and goofy. Always ready to sit or go into a down position for a reward, he knows that being calm and cooperative is the answer to getting his rewards, such as going out on walks and rubs at his sides. With patience and consistency in handling him using rewards-based training, he will be your best pal forever

LIKES:

  • Going out on walks
  • Rubs at the sides of his tumm
  • Food puzzles

AVOID:

  • Raising your arms over him
  • Sudden movements that will startle him
  • Staring at him into his eyes
