MERCHANDISE OFFICER

We are looking for a highly independent and dynamic individual for the post of Merchandise Officer. The job requires you to be in regular contact with our supporters and you will need to be able to communicate clearly and effectively. You will also need to be able to multi-task and be meticulous in your work.

This is a great opportunity to contribute to a meaningful cause by helping advocate for animal welfare and raising funds for our animal protection work.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage SPCA's shop at our Animal Welfare Centre
  • Source for new items for the shop
  • Manage inventory and ensure good store keeping practices
  • Manage online store and seasonal sales efforts
  • Organise and monitor sales booths at various venues/events

Requirements:

  • Ability to coordinate and work with various partners and people of different backgrounds
  • Physically fit
  • Competent in common computer software
  • Diploma in Marketing or equivalent preferred
  • Relevant working experience an added advantage

SHELTER SUPERVISOR

The SPCA is looking for someone passionate about animal welfare and shelter management to take up the role of shelter supervisor. As supervisor, you will be responsible for the welfare of the animals at the SPCA, promoting adoption, and ensuring operational efficiency of our animal welfare services. You must exhibit strong leadership skills to supervise, mentor and train a dedicated team of staff. You should have experience working in an animal facility and be familiar with principles of animal welfare and behavior. The position will require you to work five days a week, including alternate weekends and on public holidays. 

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that high welfare standards are maintained in the shelter
  • Ensure day to day operations run smoothly
  • Assist with planning and delivery of projects to enhance welfare and promote adoption
  • Develop a positive working environment and contribute to a learning culture
  • Provide cover for operational staff when required

Requirements:

  • At least five years’ experience working in an animal facility or similar role
  • At least two years of experience supervising a team
  • Advanced animal handling skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient IT skills and comfortable with Microsoft Office
  • Ability to multitask, be meticulous and meet deadlines consistently
  • A valid class 3/3A driving license, minimum of two years driving experience
  • Able to work weekends and public holidays

ANIMAL CARE OFFICER CUM VET ASSISTANT (ACO-VA)

The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) is looking for a dynamic and committed individual for the position of Animal Care Officer cum Vet Assistant to join our community animal clinic. You will play a key role in the the care and well-being of animals at the SPCA.

Responsibilities:

  • To be responsible for the care, treatment and overall well-being of animals.
  • Routine duties include cleaning/washing of cages/kennels, feeding, medicating, bathing and taking care of the needs of the animals
  • To assist the duty Veterinarian with surgeries, consultations and checks on SPCA's animals.
  • To assist with animal rescue calls when required

Requirements:

  • Minimum O’level 
  • Experienced in handling animals
  • Good communication and written skills
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Physically fit
  • 5-day work week (8am – 5pm) but must be able to work weekends

ANIMAL RESCUE OFFICER

At the SPCA, animal rescue work is challenging, exciting and rewarding. Our rescue officers receive an approximate of 600 reported cases of animals in distress on a monthly basis.

We are seeking individuals that are responsible, physically fit, professional and passionate about animal welfare.

Responsibilities:

  • Attend to cases of animals that are sick, injured or in distress.
  • Perform general driving duties in line with operations at the SPCA.
  • Maintenance of vehicles and equipment assigned to you.

 Requirements:

  • Minimum ‘N’ Levels
  • Passion for animal welfare
  • Good communication and written skills
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Physically fit
  • Experience in handling animals an advantage
  • Applicants must possess a valid class 3/3A driving licence 
  • 5 day work week

  • Passion for animal welfare
  • Degree in Veterinary Medicine recognised by the Agri-Food & Veterinary Authority of Singapore (AVA) with at least one to two years of small animal clinical experience

VETERINARY ASSISTANT

The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) is looking for veterinary assistants to join our community animal clinic. The SPCA’s clinic is unique, as it is a not-for-profit clinic serving needy animals in Singapore. These include street dogs and cats, abused and rescued animals, shelter animals and, eventually, pets from low income households.

As part of the clinic team, you will be responsible for the provision of the highest standards of veterinary medicine and care.

Responsibilities:

  • To be responsible for the care, treatment and overall well-being of animals
  • To assist the duty Veterinarian with consultations, treatments and surgeries
  • Maintain diagnostic equipment, sterilisation of surgical instrument and general cleanliness of the clinic
  • Maintain records, and write and file reports

Requirements:

  • Minimum Diploma in Veterinary Nursing or equivalent 
  • At least 3 year(s) of working experience in a veterinary clinic
  • Passion for animal welfare
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • A team player

As the Senior Veterinarian, you will be responsible for the provision of the highest standards of veterinary medicine and care. As our clinic is currently expanding, you will be instrumental in helping us grow and develop into a full-fledged community animal clinic. You will also be involved with community health programmes that make a direct and positive impact on the lives of animals and their human caregivers.

Key responsibilities

Veterinary duties

  • Lead and support the clinic team to fulfil our mission to provide quality veterinary medicine to needy animals
  • General clinical duties including consultations and surgeries
  • Implement and oversee clinic and shelter disease control measures
  • Oversee the health and welfare of all animals in the clinic and shelter
  • Be actively involved with the strategic development, planning and delivery of enhanced veterinary capabilities and impactful community health programmes

Administrative duties

  • Ensure that all clinical records are appropriately documented and stored
  • Ensure all clinic related regulations and codes are complied with
  • Develop and implement a training programme for veterinary personnel

Requirements

  • Passion for animal welfare and strong interest in shelter medicine

  • At least seven years of small animal clinical experience
  • Experience and qualifications in shelter medicine preferred

  • Able to work shifts, including on weekends
