PROJECT MANAGER (TNRM)

The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) is looking for a dynamic and committed individual to join our team as Trap-Neuter-Release-Manage (TNRM) Project Manager.

As the Project Manager, you will oversee and facilitate the smooth daily operations of a large scale dog sterilisation project, promote high standards of animal welfare and provide excellent service to our clients. You will be well placed to make a difference for the animals by heading a humane population management project, whilst leading and inspiring a team to perform at their best.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the strategic development, planning and delivery of a large scale TNRM project
  • Achieve all targets consistently and deliver high quality services to all clients
  • Ensure that high standards of animal welfare are maintained for all animals in the project
  • Ensure that resources are efficiently deployed and day to day operations run smoothly, taking decisive corrective action when required
  • Meticulously maintain accounts and records, and prepare regular reports
  • Manage the Human Resources of the project, including recruitment, performance management and training & development of the team
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders
  • Develop a positive working environment and contribute to a learning culture

Requirements:

  • Passion for animal welfare
  • Degree in any discipline
  • At least three years of managerial experience
  • A track record in project delivery, preferably in an animal related field
  • Experience with dog or cat TNRM programmes preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multitask, be meticulous and meet deadlines consistently
  • Mature and personable with excellent interpersonal skills to work collaboratively and interact at all levels

FIELD OFFICER (TNRM)

The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) is looking for a dynamic and committed individual to join our team as Trap-Neuter-Release-Manage (TNRM) Field Officer.

As a Field Officer, you will be part of an operations team managing a large scale dog sterilisation project, promoting high standards of animal welfare and providing excellent service to our clients. You will be well placed to make a difference for the animals by working on an impactful humane population management project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that high standards of animal welfare are maintained for all animals in the project
  • Managing dog trapping operations on the ground, ensuring trapping targets are met consistently
  • Conducting field surveys and collecting data
  • Mediating human-animal conflict cases
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders

Requirements:

  • Passion for animal welfare
  • Animal handling experience
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Class 3 driving license, with at least two years driving experience
  • Able to work shifts, including weekends

CLINIC ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER

We are looking for a highly independent and dynamic individual for the post of Clinic Administrative Officer. The job requires you to be in regular contact with members of public and community feeders and you will need to be able to communicate clearly and effectively. You will also need to be able to multi-task and be meticulous in your work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and update the clinic filing system/s and assist in the periodic stocktaking of clinic drugs and medical supplies
  • Assist with the answering of the clinic telephone calls, booking of appointments and dealing with the members of the public who bring animals to the clinic.
  • Responsible for the issuing and distributing of the sterilisation vouchers each month, maintaining data records for the Sterilisation Programme.
  • To look and liaise with fosterers when there are animals to be fostered, ensuring the smooth running of the SPCA Foster Programme.
  • Any other duties or assignments as instructed by Management.

Requirements:

  • Ability to coordinate and work with various partners and people of different backgrounds
  • Physically fit
  • Competent in common computer software.
  • Experience in data entry and database management an advantage
  • Comfortable in the presence of animals

ANIMAL CARE OFFICER CUM VET ASSISTANT (ACO-VA)

The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) is looking for a dynamic and committed individual for the position of Animal Care Officer cum Vet Assistant to join our community animal clinic. You will play a key role in the the care and well-being of animals at the SPCA.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To be responsible for the care, treatment and overall well-being of animals.
  • Routine duties include cleaning/washing of cages/kennels, feeding, medicating, bathing and taking care of the needs of the animals
  • To assist the duty Veterinarian with surgeries, consultations and checks on SPCA's animals.
  • To assist with animal rescue calls when required

Requirements:

  • Minimum O’level 
  • Experienced in handling animals
  • Good communication and written skills
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Physically fit
  • 5-day work week (8am – 5pm) but must be able to work weekends

  • Degree in Veterinary Medicine recognised by the Agri-Food & Veterinary Authority of Singapore (AVA) with at least one to two years of small animal clinical experience

The SPCA’s clinic is unique, as it is a not-for-profit clinic serving needy animals in Singapore. These include street dogs and cats, abused and rescued animals, shelter animals and, eventually, pets from low income households.

As part of the clinic team, you will be responsible for the provision of the highest standards of veterinary medicine and care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To be responsible for the care, treatment and overall well-being of animals
  • To assist the duty Veterinarian with consultations, treatments and surgeries
  • Maintain diagnostic equipment, sterilisation of surgical instrument and general cleanliness of the clinic
  • Maintain records, and write and file reports

  • Minimum Diploma in Veterinary Nursing or equivalent 
  • At least 3 year(s) of working experience in a veterinary clinic

As the Senior Veterinarian, you will be responsible for the provision of the highest standards of veterinary medicine and care. As our clinic is currently expanding, you will be instrumental in helping us grow and develop into a full-fledged community animal clinic. You will also be involved with community health programmes that make a direct and positive impact on the lives of animals and their human caregivers.

Key Responsibilities:

Veterinary duties

  • Lead and support the clinic team to fulfil our mission to provide quality veterinary medicine to needy animals
  • General clinical duties including consultations and surgeries
  • Implement and oversee clinic and shelter disease control measures
  • Oversee the health and welfare of all animals in the clinic and shelter
  • Be actively involved with the strategic development, planning and delivery of enhanced veterinary capabilities and impactful community health programmes

Administrative duties

  • Ensure that all clinical records are appropriately documented and stored
  • Ensure all clinic related regulations and codes are complied with
  • Develop and implement a training programme for veterinary personnel

Requirements:

  • Passion for animal welfare and strong interest in shelter medicine
  • Degree in Veterinary Medicine recognised by the Agri-Food & Veterinary Authority of Singapore (AVA) (https://www.ava.gov.sg/explore-by-sections/pets-and-animals/animal-health-veterinarians/veterinary-licensing)
  • At least seven years of small animal clinical experience
  • Experience and qualifications in shelter medicine preferred
